Forest Cup Final
Hosted by Counties Manukau Orienteering Club.
Venue : Waiuku Forest North.

  • Directions:Signposted from Waiuku. Take the road to Otaua, Hoods Landing Road to Forestry Road, then Wilson Road, then Robinson Road. From Pukekohe, take West Street, Waiuku Road to Puni, turn left to AkaAka-Otaua Road, Hoods Landing Road tetc. Entry will be along Robinson Rd from the end of Wilson Rd. Park as directed from the end of Robinson Road. The Event Centre is 200m east of end of Robinson Road.

Ordinary entries close Wednesday 10 September, late entries close Friday 12th.

  • W:White 2km
  • Y:Yellow 2.6km
  • OS:Orange Short 2.3km, climb 115m
  • OL:Orange Long 3.5km, climb 180m
  • P:Purple (Red 5) 2.5km, climb 105m
  • R4:Red 4 3.5km, climb 175m
  • R3:Red 3 4.2km, climb 200m
  • R2:Red 2 5.5km, climb 270m
  • R1:Red 1 (map flip) 8.1km, climb 390m, map flip at control 15

Please note: There will be two Start areas, so please double-check which Start area your course is allocated to on the day. White/Yellow courses are on the map called “Waiuku North” and will be on the north side of the Event Centre. Orange/Red/Purple courses are on the map called “The Escarpment” and will have a 15-minute walk along the track beside the fence line on the edge of the mine to the Start area.
Do not cross the fence line into the mine area or into the forestry area – stay on the track to the Start, as the mine area and forestry area are Out of Bounds while you are walking to the Start.

  • Toilets:There will be a toilet at the Start area for the Orange/Red/Purple courses.
  • Map notes:The Course Setter has designed courses to have maximum use of the white/fast run areas of the map. Indistinct tracks have been mapped but some are more indistinct than others. Full body cover and a whistle are recommended. Closer to the coast, there is much wind-blown and fallen branches and trees. The worse affected areas are indicated by green stripes on the map.

This event is part of theForest CupSeries. This is a 5–race event shared by the three Auckland Region Clubs (NWOC, CMOC, and AOC), and Orienteering Waikato.
