Forest Cup

Forest Cup is a 4-race series shared by the three Auckland (NWOC, CMOC, and AOC) and Orienteering Waikato. There will be a points competition across the series culminating in a series finale on Sunday 13th September.

Key Information

There is a points competition with points based on time behind the winner.
There will be a prizegiving after the final based on the best 3 scores across the 4 events. The top 3 in all classes will be celebrated with prizes for 1st.

You will be automatically assigned to the most appropriate class for the course you have entered. See the table below.
Some very competitive orienteers may choose to "run up" a course from that of their typical age class. For example, someone who is eligible for the M14 class(which is on the Orange Long course) may choose to enter the Red 3 course and will score points in the M16 class.
Some more casual orienteers may choose to "run down" a course from that of their typical age class. They will score points in the open class for that course.

Results

Points are calculated from time behind the winner of the class, but with a curve so that all finishers receive points. DNF and MP results will not receive points. Best 3 of 4 scores count.

Please contact us if you feel there are mistakes in the results. If you are unexpectedly in an open class, it might be because you entered on the day, rather than pre-entering using EnterO, and therefore we do not have your date of birth to place you in an age class.
