Map: Tapapakanga Regional Park on a NEW map. It is a stunning regional park (established in 1995) which has spur/gully terrain with a mixture of open farmland and bush.There is a camping groud, BBQ facilities, and a nice beach for swimming. The Start/Finish is beside the history Ashby homestead, built in 1900. The contours are 5m intervals. The black impassable cliffs are definitely impassable. There are challenges for the elite orienteers and plenty to appreciate for the social orienteers.

Signposted: From entrance to the park on Orere-Matingarahi Road, just south of Orere Point. 

Directions: From Auckland, take SH 1 to Takanini turnoff. Drive trough Clevedon and Kawakawa Bay. Continue past Orere Point turnoff for a further 3 km. Drive time is one hour from Newmarket. From Pukekohe, either drive through Papakura and Clevedon, or drive through Pokeno and Mangatangi and Kaiaua.

Start time: Start between 10am-12.30pm. Course closure: 2pm.
Courses available: 5 Red, 2 Orange, Yellow & White.
