Oceania Opportunity as part of a North West Group

Looking for 7 races in a week? Consider the Oceania Champs in Canberra, from 26 September to 4 October - many NWOC Juniors will be competing, plus plenty of other North West Club members.

Club captain, Rob G has booked accommodation at 2 venues, and there are still places available.
  • There are villas at the Alivio Tourist Park, or apartments at Pinnacle Apartments.
  • Rob has discounted rates at both places, the cost will be $A70-80 per night. Club members who choose to do so can share accommodation and cars can also be shared.
  • Most of those who have already booked to go are on the 9am flight out of Auckland on 25 September.
If you are keen, please email or text Rob rgmg@xtra.co.nz / 021597070.

Rob is away for 7 weeks from Tuesday 23 June, so please make contact before then.

Member Story

Congratulations to North West Junior, Emily Barnett who dressed up in her orienteering gear for Titirangi Primary School's sports appreciation dress up day recently. The brief was to come dressed in your favourite sport. Emily secured one of the winning costumes for her class. And on Sunday, Emily wore her gear for Rogaine 3, competing with dad Chris, as part of Team Hotdog.

Emily loves orienteering; she got into it last year when her brother started orienteering through St Peters College. Last year she designed a course for her class, downloading the map and deciding where the controls should be placed.  Emily tested the course herself and on her brother and on the day she ran the event with her class, timed them and did a winners ceremony. Go Emily!
